Twi-hards

My sister used the term “twi-hards” in an email recounting her viewing of Twilight last week, and I nearly pissed myself laughing at the neologism. I thought she invented it. Turns out that the fans are actually using it themselves (along with “fanpires”). Suddenly it’s less funny.

  1. I think I must have read it somewhere. I’m sure I didn’t come up with that on my own. Fanpires is pretty funny.

I started reading the Charlaine Harris series now (on which “True Blood” on HBO is based) and boy. All the things that Stephanie Meyer doesn’t say in her books? Harris says. Each and every word that Meyer surely slaved over? Harris doesn’t seem to spend too much time on those silly old words. I kind of like it. It’s pretty raunchy, but I’m okay with that. And it’s more of a murder mystery so far than a romance.
