Fascinating combo of links. (As so often!)
I think in the Intersex support paper when they comment on health bodies talking ‘men who have sex with men’ rather than gay men, it’s a misunderstanding – this term is used in order to talk about risk, which inevitably relates to actual behaviour rather than self definition – lots of men who self-define as straight DO have sex with other men sometimes, and conversely, not all gay men are sexually active.
Great book on this subject http://alicedreger.com/age_of_ethics.html
