Tara D is finally back from her holiday, which sounds like it was L.A.-tastic. To celebrate she’s doing yet another lyric game. This time, you have to send her a list of all the songs you can think of with “L.A.” or Los Angeles landmarks in them. Go on, you know you’ll kick my ass.

  1. Oh, Hows, you gotta give it a try. you never know what will happen! Here, I’ll even give you one- LA Woman. There.

Hey, I’m glad to be reading you again, though! 🙂

  2. Dude, I suck at these contests. It’s like street names. I just can’t do it. I navigate by landmarks, and I recognize songs by singin’ ’em. I can never remember the names.

But does “In the Ghetto” count? 🙂

  3. does mentioning an LA sports team count? i was thinking of will smith’s “gettin’ jiggy with it,” when he says:

“mad ’cause i got floor seats at the lakers…”

  4. Ooh, there’s an REM song called “Electrolite” that’s all about “Mulholland Drive” and Martin Sheen and stuff. That should count.

  5. I will accept the Ghetto, although when used in a proper form, I believe Elvis was talking about Chi-town (is that right?)… but this contest is so sad. Amy, nice job. What is that, Wil Smith?

  6. Actually, I was referring to the Eric Cartman version from “South Park”. 🙂

  7. My favorite LA song is that one by Beth Hart; “Back to LA” I think it’s called?
It’s so sad and she’s got such a cool voice
