Lyrics game

Tara D is finally back from her holiday, which sounds like it was L.A.-tastic. To celebrate she’s doing yet another lyric game. This time, you have to send her a list of all the songs you can think of with “L.A.” or Los Angeles landmarks in them. Go on, you know you’ll kick my ass.

  1. Dude, I suck at these contests. It’s like street names. I just can’t do it. I navigate by landmarks, and I recognize songs by singin’ ’em. I can never remember the names.

But does “In the Ghetto” count? ๐Ÿ™‚

does mentioning an LA sports team count? i was thinking of will smith’s “gettin’ jiggy with it,” when he says:

“mad ’cause i got floor seats at the lakers…”

  3. Ooh, there’s an REM song called “Electrolite” that’s all about “Mulholland Drive” and Martin Sheen and stuff. That should count.

  4. Actually, I was referring to the Eric Cartman version from “South Park”. ๐Ÿ™‚

My favorite LA song is that one by Beth Hart; “Back to LA” I think it’s called?
It’s so sad and she’s got such a cool voice

I will accept the Ghetto, although when used in a proper form, I believe Elvis was talking about Chi-town (is that right?)… but this contest is so sad. Amy, nice job. What is that, Wil Smith?
