Woooo! Automated our aircon with Alexa (hooking into homebrew smart home controller built by the Snook). #lazy #voicecontrolftw https://t.co/huLWZQidDf https://t.co/gmaIBiIBia

My favourite part is that since it’s all custom, I can use phrases like, “Alexa, tell my smart home that it’s hot as balls in here.” ๐Ÿ˜‚

@petehanssens Yup. We have a dumb old air con so have to literally replay IR commands at it.

@mmastertheone Not gonna lie – I was tempted… ๐Ÿ˜‚

@mattallen Well, the fact that my compatriot had to resort to IFTTT to get it to work with *his* voice assistant… may have contributed to the grin. ๐Ÿ™‚

@mattallen Yep. Raspberry Pi + LIRC. (Inspired by a similar project @seansonbronson presented at SyPy earlier this year!)

@vertis @orj @ittybittyapps I’m already using Jekyll->S3 for https://t.co/d8LFjszP5y. But https://t.co/wPCtzMM3Ls is a beast, and I hate to think how much a pain it would be to regenerate it every time I make a change.

Had to improvise cap sleeves, but I reckon they work! All thatโ€™s left now is to hem and itโ€™s ready for the Christmas party… https://t.co/HvnFFA1jWw https://t.co/X4FVFVmu1I

@petehanssens I saw a talk @seansonbronson did at SyPy earlier this year that pointed me to LIRC. Thatโ€™ll save you a lot of headache!

Public service announcement: @aldiaustralia has novelty tropical drinking vessels! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ https://t.co/kXwiOxV6yM https://t.co/Q7W8WiD7LZ

Hey @notsolonecoder – next project? (Interesting they used a FOI request to get the data!) https://t.co/uAR9RXS5hR

@FourRedShoes Iโ€™m an appreciator but not a super knowledgeable fan. I really enjoyed his segment in the new Coen bros. Western on Netflix though!
