Evil Dead: The Musical has just opened in New York, and it’s actually getting some decent reviews! I’m loving the idea of the “splatter zone.”

The Director of Photography on the Matrix was Bill Pope – who also shot Evil Dead 3. Apparently, it was as much fun as it looked. We had a long conversation about the cinematic impact of different colours of blood, and the best way to light a bloodbath.
Pure genius.
