I was reading this article about the repainting of an Aboriginal mural at a Redfern community center when I realised that I knew one of the people quoted in the story. Lyn Turnbull is (was?) a member of our inner city Guild group. Looks like she’s still fighting the good fight.

I love Lyn! She did a talk on the Redfern Waterloo tour of beauty and my friend and I had the biggest lady crush on her. I was all “I hope I’m like her when I grow up”. That would be so amazing if they can repaint the mural at the settlement!

Lyn is my neighbour across the street, she’s awesome! She and her husband run REDWatch, and they have a great website which is good for keeping abreast of local issues http://www.redwatch.org.au/
