I GOT IT! I GOT IT! Oh my God! I am leaving Netdecisions! Here’s how it went down: yesterday I was shocked to hear that Christian, a fellow front end developer, had gotten “the letter”. He hasn’t been here long, but he’s quickly become one of the leaders of the group. It was a huge shock and he was upset about having to leave. I talked to him last night and we half-joked about the possibility of doing a switch (me for him). I told him to feel free to mention me during his meeting today. Well, he just came back from it and they accepted! The Snook’s going to set up a meeting for himself now. Either way, we’re gone, baby. THIS IS FANTASTIC NEWS!

  1. *yey* Congrats!

  2. Congratulations! That is so gutsy: I would never have the balls to do something like that!

  3. Amy and I are very happy for you! So, when is the trip to Australia (ahem, and Chicago…)? Much love to you and the Snook- I hope the same can happen for him.

  4. ex-ND Ferret

From one person who told ND to stick it up their ….. to another. Well done!

  5. I never thought I’d be cheering on someone for losing their job, but congrats, Kris! No one–and I mean no one–should have to work at a place where they don’t enjoy it. I’m glad this happened and gives you the incentive you need to get the heck out of Dodge.

Though if you’re moving to Australia, let me offically say that I am JEALOUS AS HELL. πŸ™‚

  6. Thanks everybody! I just got out of a meeting with one of the higher-ups that basically confirmed the deal. With all luck, Wednesday will be my last day. No word on the Snook yet; he’s going to have to work out something next week. At any rate, we’re not going to be heading to Australia right away. We need at least a month to tie up everything here, and then we’ll be taking time on our way over to stop and visit my fam and maybe have a little vacation in Hawaii.

Aww, don’t be jealous Max. Just get a passport so you can come visit! πŸ™‚

  7. waHOO! now i’ve got to switch my overseas naval station lobby to australia! who cares if it’s horrible for J.’s naval career…

damn…so exciting. are you getting that sweet, sweet severance package?

  8. Yep. I haven’t signed on the dotted line yet, but that should come by the middle of next week. Yes, everyone should move to Australia! πŸ™‚

  9. It seems very strange to be congratulating someone on being fired, but I guess that if that’s what you’re aiming for then congratulations are in order. πŸ™‚

  10. Yea!!!!! Happy days for us both! No longer am I a Walmart employee! We rock

  11. Congratulations! That makes two pieces of great news today.
You may have heard the one about a small northern Europeand island going to Japan next year to kick a pig’s bladder up and down a large grassy arena.

Way to go. Just make sure Rod screws the firm royally.

  12. Congratulations on your freedom. Worked out well in the end.

  13. Which island is that? Oh yeah, Ireland. We were there when they won their match 4-0. πŸ™‚

As for Rodd, it’s looking more and more unlikely that they’re going to give him anything. So he’s probably just going to walk…

  14. Ireland still have to qualify via the playoffs…
We’re going to the World Cup. We’re going to the World Cup. Lala la la. Lala la la!

  15. Hahaha… Okay, okay, England rules. Too bad about David Beckham’s voice, though. I might be more enamored of him if he didn’t sound so ridiculous.
