Losing my religion for equality

Losing my religion for equality – Excellent essay by Jimmy Carter on why he left his church over their insistence that women should be subservient to men.

Thank you, that’s really encouraging (well, discouraging too, but good on Jimmy et al).

Jimmy Carter has always been a man of principle. I wish more religious leaders (and their flocks) practised what they preach. Some of the nastiest people I have met have been devout members of their churches. ( As have some of the most caring and principled). I often despair of the human race.
