More Fashion Don’ts (brought to you by the guys at my gym):

  • Never, ever wear a horizontally striped tank top with vertically striped shorts. You look like a test pattern.
  • Zubas are always a bad idea. You know zubas, those big cotton pants with the patterns all over them? Yeah, no woman (or gay man, for that matter) respects someone wearing those.

Oh, and by the way… I’ve lost 8 pounds! Can you believe that? I think I’ve broken through some sort of metabolic wall.

super congrats on the 8 pounds, kris — very inspirational!!!

(ok, ok, i know overall health is the goal, but those numbers on the scale are pretty exciting too!)

  2. They’re extremely motivational for me. Before I checked it the other day, I was feeling bored and tired of doing the workout. Once I saw those numbers, though, I jumped on the StairMaster and never looked back! 🙂

  3. Yay! Good job, Kris! 😉

  4. just don’t forget that the scale isn’t the only way to measure your fitness progress. don’t let yourself get disappointed if your weight plateaus every now and then—you’re probably just adding muscle!

and great work, woman. keep it up! 🙂

  5. Yeah, I bought a proper measuring tape and did the measurements, but I’m afraid to do a second one to compare. Mostly I’m afraid that I won’t measure in the same place. It’s difficult to know where to do it! So I don’t think I can trust the numbers…

  6. forget the numbers, trust how you feel both in and out of your clothes! 😉

ps—you do know that you’re part of my inspiration for training for this 10K, right? just wanted to underscore that fact…

Oh my gosh! You know you have permanently damaged Joe’s self-esteem. (He’s standing here right now reading over my shoulder; WEARING A PAIR OF CHICAGO CUBS ZUBAZ!!!!) And he says that as soon as he can find a pair small enough, he’s buying some for your littlest brother!

  8. Ouch. Sorry Joe. Well… technically I meant for single people. If you’re married, then by all means be comfortable. 🙂

    And B – aww, that’s so sweet!
