Roger Ebert answers one of Life’s Great Questions: “Who would win in a fight – William Wallace (from Braveheart) or Maximus (from Gladiator)?” I totally agree with his answer. Kinda funny that they’re both fake Australians, though. 🙂

Important Note
This site features content going all the way back to 2000. The posts you’ll read reflect my views and writing style at the time. While I have gone back to clean up a few of them, I think it’s important not to sanitise too much. This site is a record of who I am and how I’ve grown. Any blog post written years ago may not reflect who I am today, nor how I would write about the same topic today.

B-heart, all the way. Maximus was tough, don’t get me wrong, but Wallace was doin’ it up for a whole country.
I second that!
Sorry, I’ll have to go with Maximus, ever calm & studly in the face of danger. To quote Austin Powers: “Women want him, and men want to BE him!”
Perhaps the more interesting question is, who do you want [to win] more?
I have to go with Russell, I mean Maximus.
I say Mel. Gladiator pissed me off. The whole thing was just a rip off of Braveheart anyway. (Don’t even get me started on the “fighting-to-avenge-my-dead-girlfriend-but-still-taking-time-to-shag-my-number-one-fan-before-I-die” theme.) And the fights were a lot cooler in Braveheart. I didn’t sit there wondering how the CGed in the tigers.
