An Australian Conversation

An Australian Conversation
Me: “Ugh, what is that smell? I think there must be a house on fire nearby!”
Snook: “Nah, it’s a barbie!”
Me: “What the hell are they barbecuing?”
Snook: “Mmm, smells like octopus.”
Me: *blink* “You can tell that from the smell??”

I live in a place where people grill octopi in their backyard. I can’t decide if that’s cool or weird.

Because of me, my college roommate from New Jersey can tell the difference between a pig farm and a chicken coop just by the smell. 🙂 We’re all very proud.

Important Note

This site features content going all the way back to 2000. The posts you’ll read reflect my views and writing style at the time. While I have gone back to clean up a few of them, I think it’s important not to sanitise too much. This site is a record of who I am and how I’ve grown. Any blog post written years ago may not reflect who I am today, nor how I would write about the same topic today.
