Encyclopedia readers unite

AskMeFi wants to know: Did you read encyclopedias as a kid? I did. We had an ancient set of World Books and everytime I’d go to look something up, I’d get sucked into reading them for hours. Come to think of it, I do the same thing nowadays with Wikipedia.

  1. Yep, I did that. Nowadays, though, that’s more likely to happen with the TLA film guide or my British English/American English dictionary.

  2. Yep, sure did read them – my folks were encyclopedia freaks. We had World Book, Encyclopedia Brittanica, the Medical Encyclopedia (or something like that) and the Children’s Encyclopedia…

    They made me a NERD!

Important Note

This site features content going all the way back to 2000. The posts you’ll read reflect my views and writing style at the time. While I have gone back to clean up a few of them, I think it’s important not to sanitise too much. This site is a record of who I am and how I’ve grown. Any blog post written years ago may not reflect who I am today, nor how I would write about the same topic today.
