Home Inspection Nightmares. Yikes. My favorite is the tobaccy tin.
Important Note
This site features content going all the way back to 2000. The posts you’ll read reflect my views and writing style at the time. While I have gone back to clean up a few of them, I think it’s important not to sanitise too much. This site is a record of who I am and how I’ve grown. Any blog post written years ago may not reflect who I am today, nor how I would write about the same topic today.

We bought our house in February 2006. The house was seven-years-old. The inspector asked if we wanted the septic tank inspected. It would cost $100. He said that most people who buy a house this new don’t have it inspected b/c there’s usually nothing wrong. Well, I’m paranoid, so we had the inspection. It’s a good thing we did, b/c the darn thing FAILED the inspection, and the whole drain field had to be replaced by the sellers before we bought the house. It cost them about $7,000. 🙂
This makes me feel really really good about our 100-year old home! What are people thinking?
