Impostor Syndrome

Huh. Evidently I sleep-walked into the office last night and posted this question on AskMeFi under a different name. Because that? Is exactly the stuff I’ve been worrying about.

I believe that it takes 3 months to get a take on who people really are and what a company is about. When you first meet someone they show you who they think they are or who they want you to think they are. So, be friendly but don’t confide anything you would prefer to stay private and don’t align yourself with office politics. Give it three months before you form your opinions. Congratulations on the new job!

Important Note

This site features content going all the way back to 2000. The posts you’ll read reflect my views and writing style at the time. While I have gone back to clean up a few of them, I think it’s important not to sanitise too much. This site is a record of who I am and how I’ve grown. Any blog post written years ago may not reflect who I am today, nor how I would write about the same topic today.
