Edited to add: Holy crap! You’re not supposed to wash chicken before you cook it. WHAT?!

I never knew washing chicken before cooking was ever an option.
I was always taught to rinse chicken and pat dry. That totally threw me off.
I never wash chicken, even when the recipe says to. I always thought, what is there to wash off?
