Week 17: The floor is finished, and now the walls are being primed and sanded for painting! Soon the skirting boards will go in, and the cabinetry build will kick off. New door hardware is in, and the wooden reveals around the windows. And in the most exciting news, the fancy Japanese toilet has arrived. 😂🚽 #renovation 🏠

Stopped dead in my tracks (again) by the sight of a sewing machine in a shop window. How cool is this? BUT – it’s not vintage! It’s a new one aimed at cosplayers. That’s AWESOME. 🤯 https://singerco.com.au/singer-cosplay-cp6355m-sewing-machine-/

I went to the Craft and Quilt Fair looking for inspiration, and I found myself drawn to works filled with women’s grief and rage. Amazing stuff. 😡❤️🧵🪡

My first meetup in ages! I went along to @projectf_au to hear my friend Roisin present, and to catch up with @emmsastagram (who claims that the quote on her shirt is FROM ME?!). ❤️

If you’re curious about how we’ve managed to pull off early retirement, I wrote a blog post about it. (Spoiler: it involves a huge amount of luck and privilege.)

    FIRE, and the next chapter…

Happy birthday to my talented, hard-working, gorgeous Mom. ❤️

People be like: What are you going to do with your first week post-AWS?
    Me: 😉

That’s all, folks. Thanks to everyone who has made the last six years amazing. (You know who you are.) 🧡

Week 16: The floor is going in! Really loving the warm colour and the wide boards. The final window trims will be going in soon, and the cabinetry will be kicking off. We had some fun picking paint and upholstery colours, and thinking about how the curtains will work… #renovation 🏠

Guess what? We spent our last day in Tokyo at DisneySea! Even on a rainy day, we could see why it’s considered the most beautiful Disney park in the world. We rode everything on our list: I even managed to get the Snook on Tower of Terror, but I single-ridered Indiana Jones and Raging Spirits. (Part 2 to follow…) 🌋🚢🧜‍♀️

Part 2: As the sun set at Tokyo DisneySea, we were finally able to enter the brand new Fantasy Springs area. I wasn’t able to get us on the Frozen ride, but we rode Tangled (beautiful but boring) and Peter Pan (blew us both away). The theming and design is incredible, and I loved how they incorporated characters into the dramatically lit fountains throughout. Perfect end to a long day! 🏮🚣🏴‍☠️❄️

Heading home… what a week. What a six years! 😭❤️

I had an absolute blast meeting everyone at the AWS Summit Tokyo today. It was also a little sad knowing that this is my last time wearing the AWS Dress at an event! (I’m leaving AWS after next week to try out early retirement.) Thank you to everyone in the community that has made my job an absolute joy the last four years! ❤️👗 #awssummittokyo

Our second Disneyland in one week. 😂🏰 Tokyo’s castle was a lot bigger and prettier than LA, and the Beauty and the Beast ride was UNREAL. And we even had a beer at Gaston’s Tavern! 🍻
