Sun, sea, and kangaroos. There are worse places to be.

A new milestone in microaggression has been achieved today, where an Australian not only pointed out my lack of Aussie accent, but also observed that being with me for so long has ruined the Snook’s. Cheers, mate. 🙄

    Road-tripping on the Mid-North Coast…

There’s a wall of Rodd’s Grandma’s needlepoint out in the granny flat. I was looking at them last night and suddenly started hearing the White Lotus theme… 😂❤️

The Snook continues to impress and surprise me with his funemployment activities. Earlier this week he got a library card, and today he is rendering down a kilo of beef fat.

The only truly excellent piece of art created by generative AI. 😂

He rendered beef fat all day. (Seriously.)

A trio of tacos from the Snook! Roast cauliflower with romesco sauce, slow cooker pulled pork, and barbacoa eggplant. 🌮 🌮🌮

Well surpassed my “eat a variety of plants” goal this week with 38 different fruit, veg, and herbs! It’ll be hard to top that. 🍌🥗🫐🥕

My custom fabric from @spoonflower turned out even better than I expected! Next step: pattern research while I wait for my sewing machine to arrive… #awsdressv2 👗

*looking around* This explains A LOT. 😂

It was my absolute honour to spend the last two days with Wendy and Harinder from the AWS Community Builders program rehearsing and delivering the closing keynote for #AWSBuildersOnline. Now, how do we get cast in the next Marvel movie?? 😂 #greenscreenpros

This was also the day when – sitting in O’Hare and bored out of my skull – I decided to see if there were any cool jobs on offer in the AWS Munich office. ❤️

We’re doing final prep for tomorrow’s AWS #BuildersOnline event, which means I get to sit in the professional makeup chair again! Such glamour. So wow. (No lipstick until after I eat lunch. These people know me.) 😂💁‍♀️

He was missing Germany, so he made us Flammkuchen (from scratch!) and coleslaw. ❤️🇩🇪

Did I mention the cake? Because he also surprised me with Hawaiian Butter Mochi, and it’s delicious. 🤯❤️

The office is starting to come together. Still need to repaint the ceiling, replace the window blind, get more black Kallax shelves and storage boxes for the left wall, and pick out an office chair and floor mat. But hey, I’m not sitting at the dining room table anymore!

I’m putting the final touches on the closing keynote for the AWS Builders Online Series this Wednesday! I’ll be presenting highlights from this past AWS re:Invent, and I’ve got a couple special guests who’ll be helping me out – AWS Community Builders Wendy Wong and Harinder Seera! Join us on the day to level up your skills, get practical tips, and learn best practices with technical demos without leaving your desk.

Okay, Aussies, starting the process of re-setting up my home office. Looks like the 2 years of damp and rain resulted in some mold spots on the ceiling in there. I’m planning on masking up and scrubbing with vinegar, but please let me know if anybody’s determined a more effective approach. (A full repaint of the house this year is definitely on the cards.) #ElNiña

On one hand, the mould spots aren’t nearly as bad as I feared. On the other hand, I hate all of this.
