Heh. @sezshares caught me taking a sneaky photo of her TOTES BEYONCÉ #GGDSyd microphone setup.
Huh! Just got an email from someone who said she recognised me from the end of the most recent episode of “Australian Story.” What?! Turns out it’s about Nic Newling, who spoke just after me at Ignite. They have footage of his talk and then shots of the crowd. (That’s Rodd Snook under the credits text.) Full ep is here if you’re interested: http://www.abc.net.au/austory/
I was in a work meeting (in Australia, remember) a few weeks ago when someone went, “Kris, you’re from Indiana, right? WHAT’S UP WITH THAT?” Then there was a 15min discussion about how crazy that law was, and how backwards it seemed, and how they’d all never go there. All I could do was shrug.
What I’m saying is: this PR firm has a LOT of work to do.
It is a universal truth that some guys can’t resist the lure of “My Way” at karaoke.
The video of my Ignite Sydney talk is up. I was dreading watching it, but HEY, I WAS AWESOME! I’m really proud of that. 🙂
Thanks to the awesome folks at Hunting with Pixels for capturing it! http://www.huntingwithpixels.com/
Are you or do you know a woman who works in technology? The second annual SheHacks Hackathon will be happening on May 8th and 9th. I’m helping Girl Geek Sydney with the organisation, and I’ll also be there as a representative of Mi9, who are sponsoring breakfast. You should definitely sign up – it was such a fun and inspiring event last year!
Happy Dyngus Day! We made pierogies and borscht. (The world needs more holidays involving dumplings.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Śmigus-Dyngus#Dyngus_Day_in_America
