Went for a bike ride today and discovered a group of Müncheners on the Wiese celebrating their own unofficial Oktoberfest, complete with lederhosen, oompah music, and beer. They tried to get me to join them! 😂❤️🍻

Today we’re doing a guided food tour of Modena! After a brekkie of cappuccino and gnocco fritto, we headed into the covered market…

In the market we had fresh ricotta, figs, Lambrusco, and a vertical tasting of Parmigiano (1/2/3 years). Then a sampling of several traditional Modena balsamic vinegars, and yet more tigelle (with head cheese!). Finally ended with dessert, including Barozzi cake and Nocino liqueur! 😍

Final meal in Modena was at a trattoria recommended by our tour guide. I had local specialities tortellini in brodo (broth) and beef fillet with balsamic vinegar, while the Snook went with tagliatelle al ragu and roast goat! (He was in heaven.) 🐐
