A full week in Las Vegas is… enough. Time to go home. #sydneybound ✈️

I finished my solo time in Las Vegas with a trip to @enchantlasvegas, a Christmas festival. The lights were pretty, but the playlist – Judy’s “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” followed by the Peanuts Christmas song – had me literally crying at one point. I’m ready to go home. (A chilli dog helped.)

After a shower and a nap (and a goggle at the Sphere), I hit the Strip for several gatherings. First a meetuo with some of the re:Invent Community track speakers, where I had a cocktail the size of my head. Then to the Hard Rock Cafe to meet up with 500+ of our Korean customers and AWS team. And lastly, an impromptu catch up with my German (and Austrian and Italian) friends. ❤️ Great way to start the week! #awsreinvent

I managed to finish the Snook’s new socks today! These are a toe-up 2×2 rib, and for the first time I did an afterthought heel to preserve the stripe sequence. I also made a point of syncing up the stripes. Nice, eh? This colourway is “Return of the Bounty Hunter Scum” from @bahyarns. #bobafett #starwars 🧶🧦❤️

Happy Thanksgiving! He made us sous vide turkey breast, crispy turkey skin, mashed potatoes, and green beans. And for dessert, a pumpkin cheesecake pie! 🦃

More photos from today’s #awsgirlstechday event! The afternoon session was for high school girls, and we were joined on the panel by my colleague Sara Goldsworthy. My partner Rodd came along to help out, and we were excited to check out driving simulations, drones, robots, and more. Thanks again to #awsincommunities and everyone who made this happen! Hopefully we’ve inspired a few more young women to considering a focus in STE(A)M careers. ❤️
