So of course I didn’t get a chance to watch the Navy game this weekend, being in England and all… But I read the recap this morning and was really touched to hear about the stuff Navy did to honor the sailors killed in Yemen.

What the hell? The Observer has this ridiculous story about two Pyros who lived together in the same room for three years. My first thought was: “That’s stupid. Lizzie and I did THAT.” And then I remembered that Liz actually lived in 3A freshman year. But it sure didn’t feel that way. *grin*
Finnigan’s got raided! Finnigan’s got raided! Looks like we won’t be going *there* for the Reunion…
Women rockers unite for breast cancer show. It’s too bad that I’d only consider maybe two of them (Sheryl Crow and Melissa Etheridge) to be actual “rockers”, but I guess that’s beside the point. Oh, and they name Ellen’s new girlfriend. Yippee.
I laughed out loud when I read this rundown of the weekend’s college football action. My favorite part: “Miami (Florida) will not be playing this week, allowing the players to snort coke off hookers’ asses with Darryl Strawberry and Michael Irvin. I’m sorry. That was harsh and uncalled for. I didn’t mean it. What I meant to say was: ‘Miami (Florida) will not be playing this week, allowing them to further prepare themselves for the no-doubt arduous midterm exams that are coming up.'”
I’ve been trying not to get too political on here… but I had to post this. Gov. Bush’s office ignored murder confession. Scary, people.
I’m in such a blogging mood today. Mets win again! I’m torn between the drama of a subway series and my desire to see one of the lower-budget teams make it to the championship. *sigh*
That female placekicker I told you about won her case! The jury found that she was “cut her from the team solely because of her gender” and awarded her $2 million. She’s going to use it fund a scholarship for female placekickers. That’s so great. (Sidenote: I got the school wrong when I reported it earlier. It was actually Duke, not UNC.)
Cappy Gagnon wrote a really good article in the Observer recently filled with mental self-defense tips for women.
Yet another fun quiz. (Hey, it’s Friday! Cut me some slack.) This one asks you to identify songs that aren’t named after their most catchy lyrics. It’s pretty damn funny. I only got 5 out of 8 though.
