Wow. Perhaps of interest to some: “Catholic Church reaches deal with accusers in abuse case.”

The finger.
Heehee. The Purdue kicker has been getting booed by the students a lot (a botched punt led to our victory this year), so after he kicked the game-winning field goal against Michigan last week he flipped off the student section. Now he’s apologizing.

Voting
Some people frighten me. This guy says that Bush is going to win Indiana anyway, so Indiana Democrats should give their votes to Nader. And then another guy says that since Bush is going to win so easily, real Indiana pro-life conservatives should give their votes to Buchanan. I think the first argument is ridiculous… “You’re not going to win, so why even try?” And the second is just scary… “Gore can’t win, so why not vote for the right-wing hatemonger?” WHAT ARE THEY THINKING? (It’s interesting to note that neither of these letters in the Observer actually came from students.)

Football
This guy on ESPN is saying we could finish the season 9-2.

Peeps
Holy cow! There’s a new kind o’ Peeps! They look like little gingerbread people. But hey! Whatever happened to Scary Cats? I SWEAR they used to make orange cats for Halloween. Eileen licked one sophomore year and stuck it to our dorm room door. It stayed there until we chipped it off six months later.

Hooray
Oh, wasn’t it a glorious weekend in sports? Mets win, Braves lose, and ND’s back in the top 25. Hooray!

Congrats, Kel.
Kelly McMahon’s Double Life: It seems that our very own little Napoleon has been holding out on us… Kelly won the Lottery! It sounds like she and her husband Dave (Whoa! Where did that come from?) will be putting that $19 million to good use. *grin*

Interesting
A girl is suing Duke University because she claims she was cut from the varsity football team (she was a placekicker) because of her gender. Interesting.
