Southern group Guild meeting was GREAT. Preso was very well received, many thanks from members. Now off to more garden shops!

A hard earned thirst needs a big cold beer. http://twitpic.com/gjm4g (Nag’s Head, Glebe) #fb

Flemington Markets, Kogarah Guild meeting, Gardens R Us, Flower Power, Bunnings, Nag’s Head… home. Tired.

Depressing: people who’ve never been poor arguing that health care system is fine. Even more depressing: ppl who were poor arguing the same.

@bellsknits It may have been tasty, but it sure wasn’t guacamole. BLUE CHEESE? The entire nation of Mexico just had a collective shudder.

It looks like a press conference is happening on the ground floor of our building. Some big Westfield announcement?

Heartened by all the folks supporting health care reform on FB. Maybe it really is just crazy, frothing fringe groups making all the noise?

Mentally preparing myself for a very early trip to Flemington Markets tomorrow to get gardening supplies…

Knitters: I’m about to take a Twitter screenshot for tomorrow’s Guild knitternet preso. Tweet something cool if you want it to show!

Getting up early always feels like an adventure.

Made it to Flemington Markets and back. Now in Kogarah waiting for Guild meeting to start…

Hm. Judging by the reaction of the person who asked me, perhaps being an office fire warden is not quite the exalted honor I thought it was.

FIRE DRILL!

YOU MUST OBEY THE FIRE WARDEN. http://twitpic.com/g9nk2 (I only took the job for the helmet.)

Debating on whether to get tickets to see Nutty Professor with live Q&A with Jerry Lewis: http://bit.ly/PdafY. He’s a legend, really.

The doctor just rang… and I don’t have whooping cough! Yay. (However, my blood showed ZERO immunity to it so I need a booster shot.)

@imdominating Wow. I really couldn’t agree more: http://bit.ly/1s9fwZ
🙂

Urban Dictionary thinks I’m awesome. http://bit.ly/1s9fwZ

@Ascasewwen Dammit! And I just emailed Sharre with an idea for where to drag you…

Sometimes I feel very socially awkward and alienated in public. These are times when I worry I spend too much time on the Internet.

For some reason, I think @Opheli8 would really dig a meat tenderizing ring: http://bit.ly/fw5JG.

@carbolicious That’s the kind of thing you need to put in your shop’s window to attract a crowd of drooling children a la Charlie Bucket.

Stopped by Broadway pet store for flea stuff for cats and found staff hand-feeding very ugly hairless baby parrot: http://twitpic.com/g6p3f

Hairless? Featherless. Whatever. IT WAS A BALD BABY DINOSAUR.

@carbolicious How about me? YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT BIRDS. I had to pay for my stuff with that thing 2 feet away, dripping goop all over.

@imdominating I bet it’s that one where you’re all in overalls and they’re awkward teens and you look like Shirley Temple. 🙂 @carbolicious

RT @QueenBeeInc: The Fall/Winter line is up, and if we do say so ourselves : it’s purdy…. http://bit.ly/EbC9M <- WANT. Rita shall be mine!

@QueenBeeInc Love the new line! Question though: my beloved Truckette looks a bit dirty. Best way to clean vinyl without taking off colour?

@ScottRhodie In my experience: send out press releases to businesses and bloggers that are only tangentially related to the topic at hand.

@ScottRhodie PR folks called shop often to get knitters for media events. Always last minute, demanding, no respect for our time, etc.

@ScottRhodie I know… Just got burned one too many times!

@eileenDCoE You reminded me I need to give my plumber some love. BLOG LOVE!

@rhagern I just started a few months ago. Just finished Season 3. I love it! (The podcast commentaries by Ron Moore are great too.)

@QueenBeeInc How did I miss that? Thanks so much for the link… Just what I needed.

@ScottRhodie It’s just like Mad Men, isn’t it? 🙂

Looking for a plumber in Sydney? Go with Thomson Plumbing. I blogged our experience with them: http://bit.ly/9ohPT

Despite the arguments of @chrisgander & @jpalmer81, I remain unconvinced as to the cinematic merit of Rutger “Blind Fury” Hauer’s career.

@rhagern Plus she has pretty, pretty hair. I spent most of the first season being obsessed with Grace Park’s pretty Cylon hair.

Given that I may or may not have whooping cough, I probably shouldn’t go to #SMCSYD tonight. Anybody want my ticket?

Literary Euphemisms for… you know. http://bit.ly/3owSA I have to say, “Touring Rosings with Mr. Collins” made me laugh and laugh.

Blood drawn to test for whoopage. Now rushing to Broadway to pick up my new specs. Head hurts.

I got new glasses. They look a lot like my old glasses. But these ones are brown and not black. http://bit.ly/1buB0O

@steven_noble Sorry I missed it! But trust me, me hacking up a lung during your talk would’ve been distracting.

@CleaSan It might be Australian/British? This USian has never heard of it.

@gilmae Oooh, thanks for the link! I’m in the draw. 🙂

@knitabulous Thanks, a bit better. Fever is down. Going to the doctor shortly…

Doctor wants to test for whooping cough. I have to pull out of the race. If you’ve seen me in the past week and you feel sick, get checked!

@devvyleys Yikes! Glad you made it. Will be emailing you shortly… 🙂

The Snook has ruined me for milk chocolate. RUINED.

I built another very quick-and-dirty website on the weekend: http://www.morrisyarns.com/

Should’ve mentioned that @devvyleys gets full credit for designing the morrisyarns.com site. 🙂

@DianneKing I like the swirly bits. Unconventional for yarn store but pretty, yes!

Faxed my withdrawal form for the Half-Marathon. My first DNS. That sucks.

Miserable. Coughed all day. Bailed on SSK because I felt like a leper. Running a fever now. Swine flu? Pneumonia? THIS SUCKS.

Today I went from wondering whether this sickness would hurt my time in the half-marathon… to wondering if I’ll be running it at all.

Hot toddy making *everything* better…

@knitabulous Yeah, thinking that too. Will do.

Wow. Plumber called to tell us the quote we thought was ex GST was actually inc GST, which saves us like $80. Lee Thomson Plumbers = honest.

Candi (of candi.com.au) came in for a lesson on using her new site, and she brought me a SPARKLY! http://twitpic.com/fjj9d

Oooh, new version of Facebook app for iPhone. Didn’t show as an update, but found it with search. Much, much better!

Contemplating a trip to Bunnings in the rain. And I suggested it!

I want to go try out my new shoes, but I feel awful. I might feel better after I run. Or I might not.

Screw it. The sun is shining. I’m going to try out my Newtons even if cough up a lung afterwards.

Just completed a 4.13 km run with @runkeeper, check it out http://bit.ly/HHhvu #RunKeeper

Did 3 x 5min run/walk intervals to break in my Newtons. Headache & cough coming back now, but hour after run was best I’ve felt all week.

@knitabulous I’ve been resting for a week! I’m sure headache is related to sudden sloth.

Heading to BA workshop, so no knitting for me tonight…

Voluntarily gave up hour of my night to listen to talk about Business Requirement Analysis. I am a sick individual.

Over 60% of IT projects fail (over budget, over schedule).

“Companies with poor business analysis capabilities will have 3x as many project failures as successes.” IAG Consulting (2008)

All done! Going to have a drink with the Knitters. 🙂

@dwwright99 Thanks for the RT. Just an interesting quote from a Req Workshop I went to tonight. Didn’t learn much new, but a good quote. 🙂

@ironbrandon Did my 1st trial of forefoot & Newtons today! Just 15 minutes but calves & ankles tired quickly. I felt fast & happy though.

Up bright and early waiting for the plumber to arrive. I’m looking forward to the hot water not being orange anymore.

Plumbers are here! Only 20 minutes late. Let’s see how quick they work.

I have been informed that when workmen are around, the lady of the house is meant to offer them tea and coffee. Sure, whatever. #fb

@Thehabygoddess I’m guessing they’ll be done before 9am, so a six pack’s probably not appropriate! 😛

I wrote a review of my first run with the Newtons: http://bit.ly/4AT1ZP
(Attn: @ironbrandon @steverunner )

Plumbers are done & new water heater is in! Guys from Lee Thomson Plumbing did great job for LOT less than Chiswick Plumbing quoted.

@knitabulous By the Snook. I think it had more to do with him being shy about talking to strangers though. He made the tea and coffee. 🙂
