I somehow missed this yesterday – Samwise Gamgee – RUDY – was part of Indiana’s roll call at the DNC. 😳❤️ What is this feeling? Is it… Hoosier pride? LOVING THIS TIMELINE.
For the first time in over a week, we have home internet!! 😍
And now our replacement fridge is here. 😍 Suddenly I have a house again…

Progress update: The AC grills are on in the living room and bedroom! (Living room one needs the gaps at the sides filled, which will happen later.) Less attractive is the open trench alongside our house. Poor guy did it by hand so far and pulled out a lot of construction rubble. (Our neighbourhood is ex-industrial so it’s all backfill.) #renovation
Did you know Sydney has a cherry blossom festival? We went out to the @auburnbotanicgardens today to see the blossoms, eat chicken katsu sandos from @kenchancurry.au, and watch @hellokitty sing karaoke. 🌸🎋🇯🇵🇦🇺 #cherryblossomfestival

Another videogame recommendation – Cat Quest! It’s on sale for THREE DOLLARS for another couple of days, and it gave me several hours of enjoyment running around and fighting dragons.

Six months after the renovation kicked off, Phase 2* (Remedial Plumbing) has begun! Our building’s aging drains need work, and as the lucky ones on the end, we get to watch as plumbers dig a massive trench right outside our walls for new pipes. Will Kristy fall into the pit? Will a massive sink hole open up and devour Chippendale? Only time will tell! 👷♀️🚧
* Phase 1 (Interior) is still ongoing as bits and pieces arrive. Our exterior HVAC is on hold until the plumbing remediation is done, as is Phase 3 (Landscaping).

Is it even a renovation if you don’t paint something yourself? I decided to take advantage of the fridge being dead to paint the alcove where the new one will go. (It had unpainted render and old yellowish paint back there.) Primer yesterday, and now first coat today. 😅
