Arthur's Seat

On the way back to Cape Schanck we stopped off at Arthur’s Seat, the tallest lookout in the area. We could see all the way back to the Melbourne CBD! We could also see the infamous Arthur’s Seat Chair Lift, which is currently closed down (due to it basically being a DEATH TRAP).

Manly man

Back at the lighthouse cottage, the Snook demonstrated his manliness by getting a fire going in the fireplace. It was chilly, and the wind on the point was really starting to howl. We spent the night eating spaghetti, drinking wine, and playing Settlers of Catan. Our little cottage was very cosy!

Lighthouse

On Monday morning, we had a bit of a tramp around the lighthouse itself. Yeah, it was REALLY windy and cold then.

Cottage and lighthouse

We also checked out the Lighthouse Museum. From the front porch, I took this photo showing how close our little Red Cottage was to the lighthouse itself. (It’s where the Keeper used to live!)

Hipster Kris

The girls had to get to work, so we checked out and headed back to Melbourne. After dropping off the car, the Snook and I headed into Fitzroy for some shopping and lunch. We found the Little Creatures Dining Hall, and it was awesome. I didn’t even mind how hipster it was.

Hipster Snook

The Snook fit right into Fitzroy with his carefully manicured beard.

We enjoyed some beers along with sandwiches and fries. Great place!

I was thrilled when our trip down Brunswick Street lead us to The Fabric Store, where I happily bought some material. We window-shopped our way all the way back to Eileen’s. Then it was pretty much time to pack up before heading back to Sydney!

Thanks to Eileen and Susan for hosting us. It was our best trip to Melbourne yet…
