Less than one hour til Harry Potter 5 goes on sale! I’ve been trying to figure out the release schedule. I mean, it goes on sale here at 9:01 am, but most other places seem to get it at midnight. I think it’s been designed so nobody gets it before England. Therefore we get it at the same time, but the US will have to wait an extra six hours.
Update: I got it! I decided to pay a little extra and support our local bookstore (rather than fighting my way into Kmart to save an extra five bucks). There were about fifty people crammed in there, with a couple of the kids in costume. As you can see, I wore my Gryffindor stocking cap. The three kids who’d been waiting the longest got to open the first box at 9:01. Then we went in order of the tickets they handed out. We also got these sweet bags. The only problem is that Rodd won’t let me start reading it yet! We’ve got so much to do before we leave Tuesday that I just can’t. I know if I open it I won’t be able to put it down!

I’m so jealous. I got a migraine last night, and so I not only missed my husband’s cousin’s bachelorette party, I also missed the midnight premier of OoTP!! 🙁
DONE! Finished about 5 minutes ago after skipping a wedding reception.
No spoilers. I enjoyed it.
YOU’RE KIDDING! I still haven’t even started it. I’m saving it for the plane. Don’t tell me ANYTHING! 🙂
i only have 200 pages left. i won’t spoil either, but i can say that based on what i have read so far it could be the best book yet!
i got my copy on saturday. i was going to wait ’til wednesday to start reading, but i have apparently mis-placed my willpower. it’s a nice escape from the world of pre-wedding departure butterflies! i’m about half way through, and thoroughly enjoying it. no spoilers from me.
Definitely loved it, but now I now I’ve got to wait again. Now I can take my time. 🙂 You’ll have a pleasant plane ride, even without the knitting.
Hey Kris–another “just finished it” person (started it Saturday afternoon, finished it Sunday afternoon) here to tell you that you are going to LOVE it. I think it ties Prisoner of Azkaban as my favorite book of the series. You will not be able to put it down.
ARGGGH. EVERYBODY IN THE WORLD HAS READ IT EXCEPT ME! Only 24 hours to go…
