Why is Canberra so much cooler than the rest of Australia? Fireworks… porn… civil unions… Why can’t we get us some of that in New South Wales?

Uuuh… Canberra isn’t really that cool. Just ask The Knitting Revolutionary. Cold, yes, cool, no. 🙂

Well, I guess you *do* have to put up with all the politicians… (Not to mention that Bryson didn’t have a lot of good things to say about it in “Down Under.”) I just find it odd that your national capital seems like an enclave of vice and liberalism amongst a very conservative countryside!

Well since it is such a hole they have to make up for it in other ways. No one would go there if it werent for the porn and pot.

I was there for less than 24 hours, but Canberra seemed to me like such a creepy city. There were huge expansive boulevards with empty sidewalks and very few cars. Then I walked a few blocks and there was a pedestrian mall filled with shoppers, crowded cafes, and a band playing. It was the strangest experience.

Where there’s an over supply of politicians, you’ll find X rated porn and any other exception to the rules we endure.
Fyshwick is your place if your looking for all things cool.
