Oh man, I think you are hosed. US retail is in a sad state, meaning that you buy something once and YOU ARE NEVER ABLE TO FIND IT AGAIN. It happens all the time to me-I’ll find the perfect pair of jeans and you try to go and buy another pair and they no longer exist. Especially to full figured gals like myself. I do, however, live near a Gap outlet here in Ohio and could possibly pop in to check out their stock of favorite chinos.
Which outlet center was it? There are quite a few with Gap Outlets. I don’t know about this week (company visiting), but I can probably hop over and see if they have any more next week.
It was the day we went to Gatorland, I remember that. We followed the directions from WDW. I saw the mall on the left as we were going to Gatorland, and so we stopped off on the way home. I’m thinking it was either the Osceola Parkway or Orange Blossom Trail… Does that help?
Ooh, I just logged onto Internet banking to look at my credit card statement. It says: “GAP OUTLET # 7925 ORLANDO”. I was hoping for more identifying information.
I can find the telephone number of one of them and call to find out if any store numbers match. If you went on Osceola Pkwy, I think I know where that one might be. I’ll let you know if I score any. Is there a color I should look for or does it just come in khaki?
After reading the AskMetaFilter post I am wondering if I should try a pair myself!
Score! I called and the girl (a very cheerful girl) knew exactly what I was talking about. She said they have them in stock. Let me know about the whole color thing and if you want more than one pair. Cross your fingers that they have the right size.
Ooh, sweet! You are AWESOME. Did she say how expensive they were? I’ll definitely take one pair at least. I can probably take a 12 Long, actually. (The 14’s are roomy and I’ve put on a bit of weight I need to lose. I’m just scared to fully commit to losing it, I guess.) Preferably in a color I don’t have – maybe grey or navy? But I’ll take any, really.
How’s the best way to reimburse you? If you’re on PayPal, just send me an invoice and I can pay you back right away. 🙂
To deviate a bit, Torrid.com has a 50% off clearance at the moment – although you might be a bit small for their sizes (dont tell Fin i was on there hehe)

I’ve got the basic chino (light brown) color, and a sort of army green. I’ll take any, really. And definitely try them on – they’re super comfortable!

Somebody on MetaFilter says that s/he saw them for $39 with an additional 30% off. If that’s the case, I’ll take TWO! 🙂
