Cake Eyeballs
Whoa! These turned out so good. You’ll recall that in previous years I made Buck Eye Balls, which were peanut butter balls dipped in white chocolate. This year I decided to take a page from Carbolicious Cakes (my sister’s company) and try my hand at the ubiquitous cake balls. They turned out so well! One of them fell into the chocolate completely, so we got to taste it. Eileen immediately pronounced them “so delicious!” Now we just have to NOT EAT THEM before the party.

How do you make cake balls? Cake batter is always so runny…

Just google “cake ball recipe”, Mary. It’s pretty easy. Bake a cake, crumble it up, and mix it with just enough frosting to stick it together. Form into balls and dip in chocolate.

my daughter has made the same thing! the inside is red velvet cake and dark chocolate ganache, the outside white choc but the eyes are gel icing – too yum! Happy Halloween!

I think hers are fancier, jussi! Mine are just vanilla cake dyed red mixed with storebought icing. The eyes are created by not fully dipping the balls so the red shows through, and then sticking a chocolate chip in the center.
