In London I developed the habit of drinking G&Ts the size of my head. At least I buy better gin now.

Important Note
This site features content going all the way back to 2000. The posts you’ll read reflect my views and writing style at the time. While I have gone back to clean up a few of them, I think it’s important not to sanitise too much. This site is a record of who I am and how I’ve grown. Any blog post written years ago may not reflect who I am today, nor how I would write about the same topic today.

But how much is gin, and how much tonic? I’ve just ordered a ‘ginvent calendar’ for Clare to enjoy (hope she shares!) mmmm.
what sort of gin do you favour these days? i graduated to bombay sapphire several years ago, but i keep hearing that hendricks is the business. have you tried hendricks?
I haven’t tried it, Kristen. We mostly just get Gordon’s these days.
Hendricks is lovely, but has a very distinct cucumber favour rather than the herby tones of Bombay Sapphire.
Nice in elderflower cocktails.
I have half a bottle of Bombsy, a new bottle of Hendricks, several Sloe gin bottle from various sources, and earl grey steeped gin for Christmas.
I love gin.
I got a bottle of Hendrick’s over the holidays and I am pleased to report that it is just as lovely as I was hoping it would be. Very smooth. It’s pricier than Gordon’s, but worth a try in my opinion!
