Ebert has seen Eminem’s new film and, though he doesn’t say much about the quality of the picture as a whole, he notes that Eminem’s prospects for further film success seem much more likely than Britney Spears’s. Interesting. I had no idea that Curtis Hanson was directing and Kim Basinger had a role (as Eminem’s mom!). This thing has a much higher pedigree than I expected. And check out the classy poster! I figured it’d just be two hours of Marshall beating Brittany “Psycho” Murphy about the head and rapping.

When I first heard that Mr. Mathers was trying his hand at acting, I snorted in disgust. Yeah… What the world needs now is another pop-star-turned-actor, right? Then I saw the previews for this movie, and thought it actually looked decent. I might actually be able to convince Justin to take me to the movies, with popcorn and all. 😉

See, I mentioned to the Nibs that 8 Mile doesn’t actually look too shabby. He thinks I’m on drugs 😉
I’m glad I’m not the only one

i don’t think i’ll be able to get past Em’s “feud” with Moby or the fast that Miss Brit kinda creeps me out.
on the movie front, i’m still trying to score a subtitled version of The Ring before the remake comes out. Nicci, i think you and my gratingly pompous pseudo-intellectual video clerk might both be right: some extensive google sleuthing has led me to believe that an english subtitled The Ring exists, but in a version for a region other than the US. please correct me if i’m wrong. 😉

Well, that wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest. I couldn’t even tell you where I *was* when I saw it. God bless the internet. Someone’s got to have it uploaded somewhere 😉

eminem. and enigma. an enigma inside an enigma. or, just a punk. i sort of enjoy him, believe it or not. his songs are catchy, and i felt sorry for him after listening to his latest release – is it true that his mom had munchausens? (see: the song – something like – “goin’ through public housing systems/a victim of munchausen’s syndrome”.)

Hahahaha… I can’t believe I missed that. In my defense, I’ve actually been working all day. Yeah, I know, pretty remarkable. My first eight hour work day in, like, nine months. 🙂

I am dying to see Eminem in 8-Mile. I am a huge fan of his and I think his performance is going to kick ass. When I saw the trailer I just melted, he looks fine on the big screen. 🙂
