I’m too sexy for this scarf.
I’ve been waiting for Moire (who just set a wedding date!) to receive the scarves I made her before I showed them off. Since she got them today… here they are! {Don’t worry, Moire; he doesn’t have cooties.} The Gryffindor scarf shown here was acrylic and turned out really long. The Slytherin was 100% wool (some gorgeous soft Tasmanian stuff that I’m now obsessed with) but is wider and shorter. Read on to see more of the Snook’s modeling poses.

I’ve gone one more in production, but after that I’m available if anybody wants to place an order!

Why am I feeling a little turned on right now?????
Heh! I think they might look better on him! 😉
I love the wool you knitted the Slytherin with. I never imagined wool could be so soft and non-prickly!
I know! I never thought I liked wool either. But now that I’ve found that brand, I just keep envisioning such lovely soft warm things I could make with it. 🙂
Oh! And for the acrylic Gryffindor… When I made my sister’s I steamed it with the iron, which destroys the stiffness and makes it go all limp and drapey. That sucks for a sweater or something, but I actually kinda like what it did to the scarf. I didn’t do yours that way, but if you want to, put a wet on top of it and then iron on top of that.
I’ll give that steaming thing a try, Kris.
BTW, I was showing off the scarves when I got home last night, and my roommate couldn’t believe that you actually made them by hand.
“She didn’t even use a knitting machine? She used needles??”
Yep! You did a great job! 🙂
I just realized that my steaming comment was meant to say “put a wet TOWEL on top of it”.
Heh. Steaming comment. Sounds funny.
I’m going to rock so much I can’t even stand it! 🙂
If you watch CouchCam here in the next few days, you might even see me working on yours… 🙂
Love the colors! It doesn’t look like you’re short on projects, but didn’t you mention a ‘Dr. Who’ scarf a while ago? I imagine he would look great in one of those.
I’m still toying with it. There are a lot of patterns out there. But the thing is supposed to be 14-20 feet long! It’s daunting, to say the least. 🙂
I SEE YOU! Is that for moi? *dancing*
And hungover even…very appreciated. 🙂
Yep… I’m doing it on slightly bigger needles than the other ones, which means it’s less dense and knits up faster. I’ve already got, like, a foot! It’ll still be warm though and hopefully you’ll be able to wear it longer.
