Just as I was starting to think my computer had spontaneously fixed itself, the display died again. I’m going to have to take it into the shop. Oh look, there’s that G5 commercial on TV again. Hmm… Oh yeah, that’d only be three months rent. Sheesh.

Well, apparently new laptops are coming soon. I am mildly interested to see if there will be an new 12 inch PB. I don’t think I would give up on my iBook yet tho. It’s been a workhorse. Unfortunately, the battery is definitely toast.

Yeah, to be honest I’ve been really happy with mine too, other than this recent display issue. I’ve had the thing for nearly two years and this is the only significant problem I’ve had, so I guess I should count myself lucky. I just can’t wait for Panther to come out. I’m gonna wipe my drive and do a fresh install so I can un-partition it. (The Snook and I were stupid and did 5GB/15GB partitions the last time, thinking that I’d use the smaller one for system stuff and put everything else in the bigger one. Unfortunately there’s a lot of OSX software that wants to be installed on the system disk, so that one’s getting perilously full. I think I’m just going to scrap the partition idea all together. I haven’t had a bad crash where I’ve lost stuff in over a year and I can backup to our network anyway.) Once the monitor’s fixed and I get the re-install done, it’ll be like having a brand new computer anyway! 🙂
