Very funny. It’s a variation from a Seattlite’s conception.. and a flip side of someone’s conception from the North East.
Coincidently, I was in a long meeting yesterday (before reading this) and to get brain juices flowing, asked the others in the room if we thought we could draw a map of the US and correctly identify the locations of all of the states. I get really mixed up in the middle (i.e. anything not on the Atlantic or Pacific Coast).

Have you seen an Australian projection of the globe? They turn it upside-down so the Southern Hemisphere is on top. 🙂

I had a laminated version of that map on my college dorm room door as a message board for a couple of years. 🙂
