Gleewarts Express pictures
I’m still going through my (sixty!) pictures and adding captions, but in the meantime Amy and Rob have put some of theirs up on Flickr. My personal favorites: The Snook and I get up close and personal with a big friggin’ snake; I shake Dumbledore’s hand and it looks like I get some mythical power transferral; Amy and I excitedly wait for the 9:01 book launch; the high school girls who dressed up as an entire Quidditch team (seriously the best costume idea of the day!); and me and Molly Weasley have a family reunion. (And check out Hedwig in that last one! Didn’t she look cool?)

Haha, they’re awesome! I wish our local bookstore had done something special (and half-hearted dressing up does NOT count!).

Here, here, Niffler! (You weren’t by any chance at Morley Dymocks, were you? Half-hearted dressing up was all the rage!)
Kris, you are braver than i. Had that snake come anywhere near me, i would have been jumping out that window.

I just want to add that Kris DID pet the snake.

My Mum said she saw Dumbledore from the Gleebooks express on the news telling a little kid in a Gryffindor scarf that she would be sorted in to Slytherin, before he added an aside that it was the only house he could remember!! Oh god, I’m a nitpicking nerd.

Well, they sorted us into “houses” just for purposes of getting the book, so as to have four lines instead of one big mob. Our whole carriage was in Slytherin. Our whole carriage was also made up of adults, so maybe they figured that we’d be less upset about it than kids were… 🙂

Hi
Don’t happen to have any photos of Madame Hooch do you?

Actually I do! I got a great one of her while she was giving her Quidditch speech. They’ll be up in a day or two…

The girls dressed as a quidditch team are my sister’s friends. I will once again awake at a criminally early hour, don robes and become a train attendant for Deathly Hallows.
