Drop and give me twenty.

The Dove has offered to help me out with my 10K training this year. For those of you who don’t know him, he worked with us at Netdecisions in London and he’s super fit. This is because he used to be in the army for many years and now runs triathlons in his spare time. In short, he would Kick. My. Ass. I am both tempted and afraid. I’ve never had a “boot camp” type trainer before. Would it do me some good? Would I just resent him? Any thoughts?

  1. No surprise here, but I would do it in a heartbeat. Think of how fit you’ll be when he’s through tearing you down and building you back up again! 🙂

  2. I think as long as you go into it KNOWING you’ll end up resenting him for a while, because he is kickin’ your ass, you’ll do fine … anyway.. you can always bitch about it and vent.. LOL.

I personally don’t have the discipline required, I tried personal training, but was very apathetic about the whole training outside my alloted time with said PT.

Go, get your ass kicked.. enjoy!! 😉

  3. Thanks, guys. I think I may take him up on it once I’m recovered from the wisdom teeth. Back when I used to go to the gym on my own, it was easy to blow it off. Now that I’m doing more exercise with friends – squash with Albie, kickboxing with him and the Snook – I’m a lot less likely to bail. And it’s way funner. So that would probably offset my feelings of drill sergeant resentment… 🙂
