Gumnut Baby Hat

The January 2007 issue of Australian Women’s Weekly has a pattern for a “Gumnut Babies Hat,” for those who might be interested. It’s a little garter stitch helmet with ear flaps, and it features stuffed gumnuts or wattle hanging off the sides. It’s a little daggy, but still kind of cute.

  1. Haven’t seen the WW but the Spectrum section in today’s SMH has pics of the gumnut babies from the stage show (about to start as part of the Sydney Festival) – they have great felted (I think) gumnut hats, plus other knitted clothes too – very cool!

  2. We sold them all the wool to make those costumes! I helped pick out the koala fur. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. I’ve seen those beanies (and I’m not one to read WW) I can’t help but wonder if there is a version for adults (I’m daggy) ๐Ÿ˜€

  4. When I saw them I wondered if you’d had a hand in the costumes. ๐Ÿ™‚
