Just to keep you posted (and so people don’t keep asking me): Things are progressing on the job front. As you might guess, this company puts prospective hires through a pretty rigorous vetting process. So far I’ve cleared three hurdles and I’m still in the running. Hopefully I’ll have news next week!

I know… but between retail and, say, NOT RETAIL, I’m gonna go NOT RETAIL if at all possible. But I’ve got it in mind as a backup. 🙂
Trust me, you’re preaching to the choir after the week I’ve had. Although it was really cathartic to deny service (cancel an order) to a hateful shrew after she hung up on me. Seriously! How old are people? Who made them think that behavior is acceptable?
We had a complete beeyotch of an old lady in here this morning. I wasn’t even serving her; I was helping another nice lady find a music-related cross stitch. And as I’m calling out different possible designs to my customer, this other old lady says in a fake nicey-nice voice: “You’ve got a nice loud voice, haven’t you?” And I was like, “OH NO YOU DI’INT!” Excuuuuuse me for not being demure enough for you! Cow.
