Two thoughts on the whole “Pumpkin” thing:
- Man, you couldn’t make this stuff up. If they catch this guy, it’s going to be the Australian criminal case of this century.
- I bet Pumpkin Patch are loving this free – albeit sordid – publicity.
I wonder if the US cops will catch him…

My thoughts: I’m so glad his older daughter has turned up, and I think it is interesting how much of an an international case this is – the NZ police have had the most breakthroughs so far, and it will the police in the US that find him (if he’s found at all). You don’t hear much about Interpol these days, but the system seems to work when its needed.

…the road the house was in is called “Keystone” apt really – with the cops racing around for 2 days, looking under tramploines and paddling pools… before they thought to look in the car…we do look a bit amateur – see the photo at http://www.nzherald.co.nz today, taken 2 days ago the cop is looking straihght at the boot where the Mum was found.

No more so than this poor kid. Maybe they can be friends someday and bond over having horrible parents.

People are just self-centered. Kids seem to have become commodities, like sofas or widescreen TVs. The idea that bringing them up is sometimes hard (but always worthwhile) doesn’t seem to be popular any more.
