Are you right-brained or left-brained? According to the spinny dancer, I am left-brained. EXCESSIVELY LEFT-BRAINED. I been focusing on that thing for five minutes and for the life of me, I can’t even imagine how you’d begin to see her turning the other way. (I wonder if this has some correlation with my geek score below…?) (Link courtesy of Danielle.)

that’s really cool; it has me down as right-brained. i got her to flip direction (focus away from her is the trick i think) but it took serious concentration to keep her going anti-clockwise – she flipped back to clockwise for me quite easily.

Hi!
I think its fake. I saw it going anti-clockwise and then suddenly turn clock-wise… either that or I use both sides of brains equally!!!

I’m right brained, but I think it wants to be left. It was pretty hard for me to get her to flip. After reading Pradnya’s comment, I downloaded the gif and extracted the frames to see if she changed rotation. She goes in only one direction.

AH! I finally got her to flip. I had to use kirsty’s trick of focusing on something else – I stared at the carpet and only saw her out of the very side of my eye. And BIP! She flipped. Cooool.

I can make her go either way pretty quickly. I’m not sure which way I sure her spinning at first… I think it was clockwise.

She goes clockwise. I can’t make her go the other way.

Actually, scratch that. I was reading the list of right/left brain attributes and bingo…she flipped.

whoa. she was going counter-clockwise, then i made her flip, and then i couldn’t get her to go back the other way again.

Just when I thought I had some broken, unflippable left brain, she flipped! By staring off to the side, I can pretty much make her go back & forth whenever. Check out my huge corpus callosum.
PS: What’s with the anatomically correct nipples?

ok, I’m going to have to try some of those tricks… I can ONLY see her clockwise. I *am* left-handed, so maybe the right-brain thing has a point…

i can only make it go clockwise, which is kind of annoying because i identify more with the descriptions of left-brain

At first I was going to write how BS this thing is because every test I’ve ever taken since I was a kid told me how solidly right-brain I am…then this stupid one didn’t work. Well, then I just stopped looking right at it and just glanced at it…low and behold she started spinning the other way. Maybe it’s just that right-brained people just don’t look directly at things….

Hmmmm…It was clockwise, Clockwise, Clockwise…but then did what you all suggested and looked away and she started to turn anti-clockwise (patience is key) but as soon as I moved back it was like a very short fight she started turning the other way.

clockwise for me too and I cannot get her to flip around…how frustrating to me!

Right-brained, most of the time. Since, I’m left-handed, left-footed, and left-minded, I figured as much.

I forgot about handedness. That makes sense. I am so comically right-handed and footed that it’s a wonder I can even knit.
(And yeah, Snook noted the nipples too, brigita. He was like, “What was it I’m supposed to be noticing about this woman? I only see boobies.”)

Counter clockwise for me for the longest time (and I got all logical and tried to describe exactly WHY it could only be CC) and then I looked away and back and it flipped. Pretty freaky! I’m left handed, but think of myself as fairly balanced left brained-right brained.
The anti-vs-counter clockwise terminology has always been funny to me. I first heard learned about it while serving on an HMS frigate in college; someone told me we’d be circumnavigating an island “auntie” (or that’s how I heard it) and I had to ask her multiple times what she meant by that. When she finally said anti-clockwise the lightbulb switched on , “Oh, you mean we’re circling COUNTER-CLOCKWISE; that makes much more sense!” (She thought I was an idiot.)

anti-cc for a long time, but now can ONLY see her switch direction every 180 degrees, no more spinning at all. Front turns into back like the Terminator, every time!

The Snook also came up with a good way to get her to flip, if you can’t do it any other way. Cover her up with your hand, everything but her shadow at the bottom. It’s really easy to picture the shadow flipping the other way. Then once you have it, just slowly reveal the rest of her.
