Food movies. Mmm, food. (Superficiality and hedonism being my only defense against the fear of one’s own mortality.)

Important Note
This site features content going all the way back to 2000. The posts you’ll read reflect my views and writing style at the time. While I have gone back to clean up a few of them, I think it’s important not to sanitise too much. This site is a record of who I am and how I’ve grown. Any blog post written years ago may not reflect who I am today, nor how I would write about the same topic today.

Wot? No Iron Chef? There’s a Stephen Chow Film “God of Cookery” which is basically a dramatised/comedy rip-off of the concept. Not bad.
I have Tampopo, Eat Drink Man Woman and The Wedding Banquet on DVD if you want to borrow. I had a bit of a delusional scheme to try and lair a young lady-friend back to my apartment and seduce her with absinthe chocolate mousse and Tampopo on the couch.
My heroic attempt to impress the ladies… has FAILED. *sigh*
I noticed Big Night in the comments in a couple of places. That is an Italian food gastronomic orgasm.
Have you and Snookums seen that one Kris?
Oh yeah. I think about it whenever I see spaghetti listed as a side dish on a menu. 🙂
