Democracy and Beer
Thanks to the reminder from Meg, the Snook and I headed off to the Agincourt Hotel tonight to vote in the Democrats Abroad primary. (Well, I was voting. He was just there for the beer.) Clutching my US passport, I was directed up two flights of stairs to a tiny, dark back room. There sat a couple nice expats (Oklahoma, Kentucky, and New York) running the election while a small meeting of the faithful took place around a corner. I presented my ID and filled out my forms. (SÃ se puede!) Then I picked up some leaflets from the party organiser. Hey, they’re marching in the Mardi Gras parade! I’m totally considering it.

I’m glad you made it! Si se puede indeed!
Yes, we can. Yes, we have? According to Howard Fineman tonight, even the Clinton campaign is conceding they won’t win the pledged delegate count. If that’s true, tonight may have been the beginning of the Long Goodbye.
Anywho, I’m reading some reports saying we’ll know the Dem Abroad primary results on Feb. 21. 🙂
So you vote in the US Primary as an American, yet you apologize to the Aboriginies as a citizen of Australia. Which country are you allied with?
That’s the beauty of being a dual citizen. You’re not required to give up either citizenship. I get to vote and carry passports for both countries. SUCK IT! 🙂
