LMAO – I went for a jog the other morning… and it was misty!
🙂
You are hard core.
I’m having trouble with my morning schedule though. As my runs get longer, I have to get up earlier and earlier in order to make it to work on time. I don’t want to get up at 6am! Plus I can’t just roll out of bed and head out the door, because if you try to put in contacts first thing in the morning your eyes scream. So I have to have like half an hour to wake up and adjust. But I don’t want to be running at night in the dark either…
Can you run with specs on and put the lenses in when you get back?
So glad it’s going well at the new job. How’re you going versus the Evil Diet Coke?
Well, I’d get all sweaty… and I have very little bridge to my nose anyway, so I’d have to push them up constantly. Wearing the specs is an absolute last resort.
No Diet Coke usage yet. The temptation is still there. As I said to the Snook last night, “Wellll… technically I gave it up because it was an EXPENSE, so if it’s free…” And he’s like, “No.”
my last run started and finished in the dark 6am – 6.50am!!!!
well hard core
For thirty-five years I put my contacts in before I even got out of bed. I had to – I couldn’t see three inches in front of my nose without them. Just out of the solution and into my eyes. Never had a moment’s trouble from that.
Of course, as someone with a sizable nose, that hadn’t occurred to me.
I can’t bung the lenses in immediately, either. In fact I rarely wear them at all. Must start again!
Wow. Normal soft lenses, M-H? I just find that if I’ve just woken up – or if I haven’t gotten enough sleep or my eyes are tired – they just feel like sandpaper. Then again, I think I do have a dryness issue. A couple years ago my optometrist put me on special lenses that let your eyes “breathe” more. So maybe I’m more susceptible to issues with them.
The nice thing about morning running is that it’s all over for the day and you don’t have to think about it.
Also, it’s possible to get a few km in before the brain wakes up and you start to feel it.
The best thing about getting knocking 2 -3 minutes of my time for a kilometer is that early starts are not so bad.
