Important Note
This site features content going all the way back to 2000. The posts you’ll read reflect my views and writing style at the time. While I have gone back to clean up a few of them, I think it’s important not to sanitise too much. This site is a record of who I am and how I’ve grown. Any blog post written years ago may not reflect who I am today, nor how I would write about the same topic today.

Your illness is inspiring me to bake blueberry muffins. I need to break my new oven in sometime.
So dude. Have I told you yet about my high cholesterol? It’s apparently from a combination of bad genes, and things like CINNAMON BUN BREAD. (But I’m blaming the genes more. Mom has it, grandma is on medication for it. Have you been checked lately? I eat a low-fat diet and I don’t even eat red meat. It’s just ridiculous!) But seriously, now I’m all self-conscious about it. Dan got me Martha Stewart’s Cookies cookbook for my bday, and I’ve been making a recipe every Sunday for him to take into work the next day. Now I feel I have to cut back on my dough-sampling. Humbug!
Oh weird. Yeah, I know about our family history of heart disease. I haven’t had my cholesterol itself checked recently, but my doctor checks my blood pressure quite regularly and it’s always just fine. I think right now I’m one of those “fit” fat people, where technically my BMI is high but I can walk on a treadmill for frickin’ ever…
(I have powdered sugar on my face RIGHT NOW from a cupcake. They feed you like crazy on these training course things.)
What’s being sick got to do with it?
When I’m healthy, I am much more resistant to the Lure of Sugary Baked Goods.
