Stress and Itchiness

Stress and Itchiness
“Stress may make you itch.” The Snook just sent me that link. In the past six months my skin has just been crazy. I thought for a while I might be developing some sort of allergy, because I kept breaking out in itchy red welts. There doesn’t seem to be any pattern though, and Dr. Chin (and Emily) both diagnosed a random case of “dermatitis”. It certainly does seem to have a stress component though. Great. So on top of non-specific stress-related stomach pain, I also have skin irritation. I really need to learn to meditate or something.

I think you have an autoimmune disorder or something. Call House! It’s sarcoidosis! It’s ALWAYS sarcoidosis! (Seriously, tho…Dan has lichen plantis. Are you sure that’s not it? It’s worse when he’s stressed. We call it his leprosy.)

  2. What the hell? Doesn’t lichen grow on ROCKS or something?

(Now that I’ve looked it up… Ewww! No, I don’t have that. No “papules.” *shudder* I just mean that my skin’s been extra-sensitive. It gets red really easy, and if any of my clothing actually rubs, I get huge itchy red welts. And remember I also had that weird dry splotch in LA? Stuff like that.)

I get itchy bumps on my fingers, and dry patches on my face when I stress – i highly believe in cortisone cream ;D
