Pretty good, but I wish he’d said more about why he just dismisses the promises of technology out of hand. He says that alternative energy won’t succeed, but never really explains why. I came away with the impression that it’s more that he doesn’t WANT it to succeed, because he thinks we need to get rid of the “motoring culture” ASAP. My views are closer to the commenter over on Ebert’s site who says he believes in science and self-interest. Things like cold fusion and the cure for cancer will come soon simply because there’s money to be made out of it. You can’t just dismiss that because you think the status quo sucks.
