Amish Hackers

Amish Hackers. Fascinating article about the complex relationship between Amish and technology. I’ll admit that I always thought they were a bit hypocritical – riding in cars but not owning them – but this article has made me rethink that a little bit. They’re slow geeks.

I have a question for you do you remember the Amish girl that we had as a housekeeper/babysitter for you guys? I had to drive out and pick her up in the morning and take her back home in the evening. I seem to remember she got hooked on the TV after she had been there for awhile and she was really puzzled by the washing machine Do you remember her name? I do.

  2. Oh man… That stirs up some really vague memories, but not really. No name.

Important Note

This site features content going all the way back to 2000. The posts you’ll read reflect my views and writing style at the time. While I have gone back to clean up a few of them, I think it’s important not to sanitise too much. This site is a record of who I am and how I’ve grown. Any blog post written years ago may not reflect who I am today, nor how I would write about the same topic today.
