“Huevos al vapor” – I made @kenjilopezalt’s “steam eggs” using the Snook’s espresso machine steam wand. Yes, I managed to gunk up up the wand and I’ll have to figure out how to de-egg it. But wow, texture on these is *lovely*, and it took less than 1 minute. 😍🥚

We tried @mogumogu_sydney onigiri today for lunch. It’s excellent! Good size; good filling ratio; nice flavours. Will definitely visit again! We both thought the Tuno Mayo was the standout. (My only complaint – and it goes for every onigiri I’ve had outside Japan – is that it doesn’t have the crispy seaweed. Nobody bothers to do the special cellophane wrapper to keep it crisp. I miss that.) 🍙 ❤️

SHONEN KNIFE!!! Basking in absolute joy as a couple 60yo Japanese women (and their younger but still kickass drummer) tore the roof off the Crow Bar. 🎸 I was so happy when they played “Twist Barbie,” but then towards the end they launched into “Buttercup (I’m a Super Girl)” and I lost my damn mind. I first listened to this band in high school, and to finally see them in person was beyond what my 16yo self would have imagined.
And we ate some excellent BBQ too. 😂❤️
